How I Choosing Our Solemnization Venue and Some Practical Advise

Looking for ROM venue is not easy. I plan my ROM only 2 months away from actual solemnization day. Luckily we choose a weekday lunch. If not, I believe most venues are not available on the auspicious dates, especially in the weekends. So if you can, just book earlier once you decide the date.

Initially, we would like our solemnization to be intimate, casual and colonial or natural style with only 15 guests and $150 budget per person. I've seen so many beautiful cafe, such as Halia, white rabbit and Cafe Melba where are so beautiful with greenery. However, we are not allowed to hold our solemnization there due to the minimum guests :(

Luckily after doing some research, we finally shortlisted Empress, Lewin Terrace, and Tong Le Private Dining.

Empress
Empress is a traditional Chinese food in a contemporary dining room. The solemnization will be holding in Empress private room which is 廣東 private room in the 2nd photo. We really like Empress with it's traditional Chinese and contemporary style. However, the date we intend to book is not available and the lighting in private room seems not good.

Lewin Terrace
Lewin Terrace is a Japanese-French restaurant with colonial style on outskirts of Fort Park. The venue is stunning! We love the colonial style and the good reviews of their food, but the solemnization area is semi-outdoor. Because we will have 2 babies attend the solemnization, we prefer the indoor with aircon, no mosquito no insects place. So.. bye~ Lewin

Tong Le Private Dining

We finally choose Tong Le Private Dinning which is a revolving restaurant located in OUE tower where we can complete a panoramic tour of the Marina Bay area within two short hours while enjoying the unparalleled cuisine that is uniquely Tóng Lè. They have good reviews on food and no minimum spending. The better thing is the price per pax is cheaper than others! We love the ideas of revolving restaurant and I believe my family will be impressed by the awesome view of Marina Bay.

Here are my advise,
1- Plan at least 6 months in advance or even 1 year before if you hold ROM on the auspicious date or weekend.

2- Don't forget to invite JP! Popular JP usually booked before 1 year. So better plan earlier.

3- Discuss what style you like with your partner for the solemnization before dropping a mail to venues. Indoor or outdoor? Hotel, cafe or restaurant? Big or small? Budget? Location? Colonial, contemporary or modern?

4- If you don't want to spend too much on it but still want a perfect venue and memory. Just invite fewer people in your ROM and invite more to your wedding.

5- Environment and lighting are important. Choose one with a good environment and light so you can have better photos.

I'll share more for my solemnization in my next article!
